    We are seeking an experienced In-house Counsel to work as part of our legal team at our office in New York, NY.


    The Contract Attorney will  manage a very high contracting volume autonomously, including multiple and varied operational projects. This position requires working closely with internal stakeholders, such as business operations, management, compliance, and finance, as well as client partners.

    Responsibilities

    • Experience drafting and negotiating a wide variety of contracts and subcontracts, including contract modifications, contract compliance, and contract requirements preferably in the healthcare space with large payer organizations
    • Creating and updating templates, negotiation guidelines, and process improvements to improve quality and reduce contract cycle time for agreements
    • Collaborating with various functions across organization, including Sales, Finance, Operations, Product Marketing, Information Security
    • Ability to work independently and as a team. Must be self sufficient and able to work with minimal staff support
    • Liaison with compliance-related functions throughout the company, including local, state and federal regulatory compliance efforts
    • Developing strong, trusted advisor relationships with business clients and executives

    Qualifications

    Education/Experience:

    • J.D. from an Accredited Law School
    • Member of the Bar-NY or MA
    • 5+ years as a practicing commercial attorney, ideally with top law firm or in-house experience

     

    Competencies:

    • Healthcare experience required
    • Outstanding academic credentials, excellent communication skills and attention to detail
    • Background in U.S. sales and/or other complex commercial transactions
    • Experience with a contract lifecycle management tool
    • Background must include expertise in general contract work, including reviewing, drafting and negotiating
    • Demonstrated expertise analyzing risks and making risk determination
    • Demonstrated ability and willingness to handle a high-volume workload in a “roll up your sleeves” environment
    • Capability to work efficiently, meet demanding deadlines in a fast-paced environment, prioritize workflow, and adjust to frequent fluctuations in workload and business imperatives
