    Primary Responsibilities

    We are looking for an experienced Software Architect to make intuitive high level decisions for software development. You will see the “big picture” and create architectural approaches for software design and implementation to guide the development team.

    • Collaborate with other professionals to determine functional and non-functional requirements for new software or applications
    • Use tools and methodologies to create representations for micro-services and user interface of desired product
    • Develop high-level product specifications with attention to system integration and feasibility
    • Define all aspects of development from appropriate technology and workflow to coding standards
    • Communicate successfully all concepts and guidelines to development team
    • Oversee progress of development team to ensure consistency with initial design
    • Provide technical guidance and coaching to developers and engineers
    • Ensure software meets all requirements of quality, security, modifiability, extensibility etc.
    • Approve final product before launch


    Position Requirements

    Verifiable experience:

    • 10+ years of commercial software development with a variety of languages (PHP, Java, Python)
    • 5+ years hands-on full-stack software development using LAMP or MEAN
    • 3+ years software architecture implementing modern cloud microservices architectures
    • 3+ years of TDD > Continuous Integration > Continuous Delivery > Release on Demand


    Excellent knowledge of:

    • Modern software application design and architecture patterns
    • Laravel 5+ or other modern MVC framework (RoR, Django) is a must
    • PHP 7, Laravel MVC in particular
    • Redis, Memcached, MongoDB
    • Responsive Design using Javascript, jQuery, HTML5, and CSS is a must
      • Extra points if you’ve used Vue, Angular, or React
      • Double extra points if you’ve used React Native
    • ORM on MySQL, or other relational database, taken to its furthest extent
    • UML and other modeling methods
    • Material UX design principles using modern javascript frameworks (Vue.js is ours)

    Ability to identify complex problems, develop and evaluate options, and implement solutions

    Ability to use logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems

    MSc/MA in computer science, engineering or relevant field
